This Tennis New Zealand (TNZ) "Play & Go" nationwide prize was awarded to the club becaue off all TNZ's affiliated clubs, Wanganui was judged to have submitted the most complete database of financial members who were willing to receive TNZ's weekly e-newletter "Passing SHots".

Manawatu beat Taranaki 13-11 on Saturday 13th Feb to claim the Christie Cup. Taranaki had held it for over 4 years, since beating Hawkes Bay in November 2005. Taranaki reclaimed the Cleland Cup, the competition between Taranaki B and Manawatu B, winning 16-8.
