Six golds and two silvers were won by Tennis Central players at the 2010 January Nationals which have now concluded. This is a great result for the players below and for the region in general.
The golds were won in the following events:
12s Boys Singles Title: won by Kyle Butters (Wanganui).
12s Girls Singles Title: won by Paige Hourigan (Wanganui).
12s Girls Doubles Title: won by Paige Hourigan with partner Annabel Ellis from Southern.
14s Girls Doubles Title: won by Shaani Temata-Frost (Manawatu) with partner Pang Suwanaposee from Canterbury.
12s Boys Teams Event Title: Winning team members included Kyle Butters, Liam Wilby (Wellington), Tai Durie (Manawatu), Thomas Petersen (Wellington), Bernard Van der Spuy (Manawatu), Jeremy Pigou (Coach) and Dave Butters (Team Manager).
The boys team did not drop a match or even a set throughout the entire event.
14s Girls Teams Event Title: Winning team members included Shaani Temata- Frost, Paige Hourigan, Rangi Aukino (Wellington), Saravinder Pannu (Wellington), Bridget Liddell (Wellington), Peter Papas (Coach) and Jane Pannu (Team Manager).
The silvers were achieved in the following events:
14s Girls Singles: Paige Hourigan was the runner up in this event.
16's Boys Doubles: Luke and Sam Piercey (Wellington) were the runners up in this event.
